Google Earth LIVE images ?

Google Earth, a amazing tool to explore incredible locations around our world. It provides a 3D rendition of our world that transcends traditional computer mapping products. This program is incredible. It's like Google Maps to the 10th power. Check it out and watch it zoom around the globe to map any location with a satellite photo. Best of all, it's free.

Yesterday while i was exploring the new features in google earth 5 i thought what if one day we will have Google Earth with LIVE images (ie: real time images ( or at least images from places taken only some minutes ago from satellite). Would be nice to go out to the street, take a look to the sky and say hello to GE world.

I know somthing like this will NOT be possible for at least another 10 years. If you've noticed from the country view of the USA, each satelite takes little square shots of certain parts, i'd say 2x2 miles. It would require an obscene amount of satelites to cover the entire globe.

But if somthing like this will happen then it is going to be very scary .. yes scary ..It would mean a complete end to privacy. Any person could follow any other person, and see what they have done for the day. Untrusting people can try to follow their partners around, see if they visited anyone, or anyone visited them. Unbalanced people who have some sort of target fixation could track down anyone they were interested in for stalking purposes. Want to know if a girl you are interested in has a partner? Then follow her around for a week. It wouldn't even have to be done in real time, because I am sure programs would be made that can save the live feed for later viewing. At the end of the week, parents could check over the saved feeds of their childrens lives to make sure they went to school as promised, didn't have a party while they were away... I am only getting started with the possibilities, and I'm sure that someone with imagination could think of worse things.

This is not just a matter of security for countries, but for every individual on the planet.Of course people will say that governments and militaries can already do this. Of course, but the point about live coverage on the internet is that then ANYONE could do this, for whatever personal reasons they have. The point I am making is, what I am discussing is a natural extension of Google Earth that WILL happen. Once the ability for a live feed over a city is possible, it will become available. I think there is a kind of force that will build up behind this. Already you see people posting in forums what a great idea a live feed would be without considering real negative aspects of it...Imagine logging on with your wireless laptop, walking outside and waving to yourself as you zoom in on your backyard.

Anyways, current version of google earth has very old images some of them are of 2002, they started this project in 2002 and some images yet are not updated.. what do u think we will have live images in near futuer... please share your opinion through comments.

Google Earth 5 Plus the Ocean

Google Earth 5, the latest version of Google's 3D geo-browser, brings an important feature from the discontinued Google Earth Plus, which used to cost $20/year. You can now read tracks and waypoints from a GPS device like Magellan and Garmin and you can import GPS files in GPX and LOC format.

Another interesting new feature is the ability to visualize geographical changes over time. Google Earth shows historical imagery that goes back to the 40s in some places like San Francisco.

If you find an interesting way to visualize a location, there's a new "record a tour" option that saves the places you visit in Google Earth and lets you replay the tour. Unfortunately, you can't export a tour in a video format using the free version of Google Earth, but the good news is that you can record a voice commentary.

Google Earth is no longer just about the Earth , now you can use it to view imagery and terrain of Mars by clicking on the planet icon. and can even explore the sky.

While all these additions useful, you'll most likely download Google Earth 5 toexplore the ocean. "Dive beneath the surface and visit the deepest part of the ocean, the Mariana Trench. Explore the ocean with top marine experts including National Geographic and BBC. Learn about ocean observations, climate change, and endangered species. Discover new places including surf, dive, and travel hot spots and shipwrecks."

Honda coming with Electric Motorcycle By 2010

In one of speech, Honda CEO Takeo Fukui recently said, "Honda is currently developing a battery-powered electric motorcycle which emits no CO2 during operation, because the characteristics of a battery can be better utilized in the area of motorcycles, which are often used for short distance travel. Honda is aiming to introduce this electric motorcycle to the market about two years from now."

Well, this is going to be ideal vehicle for Indian roads provided its price is reachable and range is not limited. I am sure Honda is going to take care of these issues if it plans to launch this motorcycle in India. Bikes are one of cheapest and widely used form of transportation in India. This bike would be ideal for crowded Indian roads both for commuters and commercial users.

Bikes are primarily used for short distance travel which makes a battery powered bikes an ideal machine.

In the uncertain times this is going to be a great move from Honda as its motorcycle business is almost recession-proof. Motorcycle is the first and original core product of Honda and it knows that if the new bike gives cost-efficiency to buyers, it is going to attract a huge new customer segment in the emerging markets like India.

Bikes are cheap, easy to own, easy to use, easy to park, less noisy. Well, if it is electric powered then nothing like it.

Google Mail (GMail) Offline Again

Google have been having a few problems lately haven't they? First Google Mail, or GMail, went offline a couple of weeks ago for a good few hours, sparking concern for businesses who rely on the service. Now Google have confirmed that once again GMail is unavailable to a "small" number of users.

Instead of emails from mum and dad, these users this morning have been faced with an Error 500 message with a numeric code 67.

Google have released a statement to the BBC saying, "We're aware of a problem with Gmail affecting a small subset of users. The affected users are having difficulty accessing their accounts."

It goes on to say, "The team is working as quickly as they can to resolve the problem. We know how important e-mail is to our users, so we take issues like this very seriously."

The free email service is used by more than 113 million users worldwide making it something of a big deal when it hits the skids.

Google's Apps Status Dashboard still shows a service disruption to GMail, but you can keep checking it for latest updates.

Have you been affected by this second round of offline GMail? Leave us a comment and let us know.
